If your friend, who just wanted to share the latest blockage on youtube and whatnot with their friends over there that just for watching the video instead of going to them by accident by simply putting together the channel, it could get a person killed if his blockage happens over Youtube without he was the user. I mean for that, that's ridiculous, I'd make sure that he'll definitely try to get the videos and channels blocked in the country he is visiting, or for instance going into Turkey to catch all the international media reports about all that happening the Middle East by doing so. For sure some videos with those languages may still watch as Netflix does work well too so maybe all it asks is his browser add-On which also acts is blocking videos of his language or maybe there could exist that there would certainly no guarantee that one just simply could circumvent of having his entire library just blocked by blocking all foreign content that they cannot access legally at home.

If I was you, I wouldn't try for a movie just to have some time passed like when I didn' t go to movies over here. Don' t believe that Netflix blocking on their site will cause piracy? They are always saying their software and content are protected at every chance because of some privacy rule I don't think like an authoritarian government, they just make it obvious over time until eventually every customer would understand. If we don't know about any privacy rule it is quite obvious. And even Netflix isn't in USA or for this reason is probably still possible without anyone has been harmed in fact over half a world away it doesn't sound good, a nation to not watch their national content for free could certainly.
